Service Opportunities - Major Donor Fundraising
Christian English School of Torino – Major Donor Fundraising |
Job Summary: To effectively accomplish the goal of providing affordable excellent Christian education to the Italian and immigrant families in Torino, and to ensure the longevity of the school over generations, it is preferable to purchase a building within the first 5 to 10 years of operation. Further, there is a need for raising funds to provide for the start-up costs and the first-year budget. To accomplish these goals, major donors are needed. Working with potential major donors requires the development of a trusting relationship and consistency to keep the vision and needs of the school before the minds and hearts of potential major donors.

Skills Required: · A sociable personality with the Christ-confidence to be comfortable and secure with successful professionals and businessmen; · The ability to effectively present the vision and needs of the school in a clear and convincing manner; · The ability to use modern video communication technology and the ability to communicate effectively over the telephone and email. · The organization skills to be able to routinely communicate with approximately 20 – 30 potential major donors. |
Job Description: · Become familiar with and fully embrace the mission and vision of the Christian English School of Torino, and become proficient in presenting this in a short amount of time, and extended times together with potential major donors. · Contact potential major donors, initially with a founding board member of CES-to, in order to present the mission and vision of the school, asking if they understand and embrace the mission and vision, and then asking if they would prayerfully consider uniting with CES-to and investing in work that God is doing through the school in Italy. · Being willing to ask for referrals to others who might be interested in hearing about the ministry of CES-to, first asking them to contact the potential referral to ensure that it is OK for us to contact them, ideally with the linking relationship present on the video call. · Invite potential major donors, and ideally personally participate, in the school opening event in Italy in early September 2024.

Estimated Time Required: · Assuming 24 potential major donors, and a contact rate of about once every 6-months, there would be an estimated 48 contacts per year, which would be about 4 per month. · The average time for a contact would be approximately 45 minutes each, some being just a follow-up email or a short call, and others being a longer video call. · With these assumptions, it is estimated that the time commitment would be approximately 3 hours per month. · The trip to Italy in September 2024 would obviously be more than this, but could be combined with a planned vacation to different parts of Italy. |
