Teachers
Teacher Qualifications
The Christian English School of Torino is seeking highly qualified and dedicated mother-tongue English teachers who have educational training or experience. In the first year or so, the school will likely be inviting only preschool and primary / middle school students, but the plan is to eventually include students through the high school / secondary school years as a preparatory school for university in Italy and other countries. Mother-tongue English teachers should either be certified by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) or be in process of, or desiring to pursue this certification.
Teachers will be required to manage and teach students using a multi-level format, with some materials in multi-level groups, and other materials (specifically language arts and mathematics) in age-specific levels while others are engaged in appropriate self-work projects.
Coursework or certification in Teaching English as a Second Language is desirous but not mandatory. There will be a translator available to help students in the early stages of their transition to an all-English educational format.
Teacher / Administrator Applications
If a teacher or administrator is interested in applying for a position at the Christian English School of Torino, it is necessary to complete the Application Form, which will then be followed by an interview process. Teachers are required to be self-supporting or raise their own support. This can be accomplished by a number of different mission agencies, such as:
Assistance for Teachers
Once a teacher is accepted and is beginning the process of raising their necessary support, coaching will be available. There is also the possibility of CES-to providing housing assistance to new teachers. This might include a furnished apartment that will be available to the teacher or financial assistance in their private housing arrangements.
CES-to will also assist in the process of getting the necessary immigration documentation necessary for their ministry in Italy, such as a visa. When arriving in Italy, there will be someone who will assist the new teacher in the process of getting adjusted to their new home and culture, and the process of applying for their permission to stay and other legal documents for life in Italy.
Bi-lingual volunteers from partnering churches are being pursued to assist these new teachers / missionaries. If an Italian resident is interested in providing this type of service, please contact us.
