Informational Update and Prayer Requests – 11 April 2024
  1. Registration: Enrollment is open, with limited numbers being available.   In talking with parents, some have expressed concern about Costs.  Families can apply for Tuition Assistance.  Other families had questions about multi-level learning.  If you are interested in enrolling your children, please visit the website at “www.CES-to.org”.
    1. Please pray for God to hand select the right families and students for the first year.
    2. We estimated that there would be about 12 students the first year. We were praying for 20 students, but now are praying for God’s perfect number and choice of students, knowing what we can handle and what is best for the first year.
    3. We understand that it requires faith to register someone’s children for the FIRST YEAR of a new school. Please pray for God to give this courage and faith to the right families and that all of their obsticles will be overcome.
    4. Pray that we can effectively promote of the “Christian English School of Torino” in the area where the school will be located.
  2. Location: If God provides a new location to the Calvary Chapel Torino church we will meet there, which is close to Parco della Tesoriera and across the street from a smaller park (Giardino Bambini di Beslan).  This possibility is looking good.  If the church is unable to purchase this location by the end of June, there is also a rental location still available on the same block.  If Calvary Chaple Torino is not available, we also have an invitation to possible meet at the International Church of Torino.  The choice between this church and the rental location may be based on the number of students that register.  For additional information on the location, “CES-to.org/location
    1. Please continue to pray for God’s perfect location for the school.
    2. A number of families are very interested in sending their children to the “Christian English School of Torino”, but they do not live near where the school will be located. Please pray for two 9-passenger vans that can be used to help transport students who want to come to the school but do not live nearby.
    3. Pray that the ideal location will be secured as soon as possible, since this will give further security to the parents registering their children.
  3. Families and Churches: We have been promoting the school to many churches and families in the Torino area.  We are planning another promotional picnic on May 4 in the park near where the school will be located.  If you or your church are interested in having someone from CES-to present the details of the school to your church.  We are also scheduling special times to answer questions interested parents.  Please contact us at “CES-to.org/contact
    1. Please pray for “Partner Churches”. Families who regularly who give to their Partner Church receive a significant tuition reduction.
    2. Pray for groups of families who are already friends to register their children together, since this will make it easier for the students to transition to a new school.
    3. Pray for God to overcome all of the obsticles for families that really want to send their children to CES-to.
    4. Pray for the opportunity to present CES-to to small groups of families.
  4. Teachers: We are interviewing a number of teachers, some mother-tongue English and some English-speaking mother-tongue Italian (since some of the courses will be in Italian) and some English-speaking Brazilian (since a number of Brazilian families are interested in sending their children to CES-to).  There is a new application for head of school who is very qualified that looks very promising.  Teachers who are interested in serving with CES-to can complete the online  Teacher/Administrator Application at “ces-to.org/teachers“.
    1. Pray for God to continue to provide the perfect teachers and administrators, especially for this new potential “head of school”;
    2. Pray for more missionary teachers to serve here and that God will provide for all of their necessary financial support. Missionary teachers reduce the costs for tuition.
  5. Curriculum: The curriculum committee is moving toward certain curriculums such as “Abeka”, “Math you can See” for Math, and “Berean Builders” for science.  We are developing a character curriculum together with a ministry called “Raising Kids for the Kingdom”.  We also plan to translate the book “Raising Kingdom Kids” into Italian for all of the CES-to families.
    1. Pray that God would give wisdom from above in the selection and development of the best curriculum for CES-to.
    2. Pray for the development of a character curriculum that will be easy to implement for the teachers.
  6. Finances: We are fund-raising for the first-year budget and start-up costs (77% currently raised).  We also hope to be able to provide 10 students with tuition assistance based on family need.
    1. Pray for God to provide all of the necessary funds for start-up costs for the first year’s budget by August of this year.
    2. Pray for God to provide partnering families who can help provide tuition assistance to needy families in Torino.
    3. Pray for effective fund-raising also to occur in Italy so that the school can be less dependent on funding from international donors.
Meet One of Our Teachers

My name is Savannah Bruch and I am a full-time missionary serving in Torino Italy.  I have been living in Italy for the last nine years, but I am originally from a small-town Utah named Vernal, which is famous for dinosaur bones and rodeos.

I was raised in a dedicated Christian family, and I am the second born out of five children, as well as the only girl.

The Lord called me into missions after attending two years of Calvary Chapel Bible College in Italy and Kenya, Africa. There God further developed in me a heart to help people know Him and His Word, whether through one-on-one discipleship, teaching Sunday school, or just by being a light for Jesus wherever the Lord placed me.

During my time in Italy, I have also been blessed to participate in church planting, which is what brought me to Torino in 2019, as Calvary Torino was just starting. This also just happens to be where I met my husband, Indigo, whom I recently married in May of 2023, and have been enjoying growing together in the simple day to day of married life.

I am really looking forward to this new adventure of teaching at CES-to, and pray the Lord will equip me to teach and educate well, and be a source of encouragement and help for all the kids who come through our school!

God recently blessed me with this new life verse, “Now therefore, if I have found favor in your sight, please show me now your ways, that I may know you in order to find favor in your sight. Consider too that this nation is your people.” And he said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”   (Exodus‬ 33:13-14‬)
