Christian English School of Torino   –   Communications

Job Summary:

With any ministry, it is critical to properly and regularly communicate the work that God is doing in and through the ministry.  The communications volunteer will be responsible for touching base with the school staff, volunteers and parents / students to report on the success and challenges / prayer requests for the ministry support team in the United States / Canada.

 

Skills Required:

·       Computer skills, specifically online email services such as Mail Chimp or Constant Contact or Microsoft 360;

·       Writing and editing skills for effective communication of vision, stories of God’s work in the lives of students and families, and challenges / prayer requests;

·       Skills in asking questions and soliciting stories from students, teachers and families

Job Description:

·       Stay informed on the need and benefits of Christian education both in North America and in Italy;

·       Contact teachers and staff in Italy periodically in an effort to obtain stories of how God is working in the lives of various students, staff and families;

·       Maintain an email list of the people who have supported the ministry financially or prayerfully, or those who are interested in staying informed on the status and progress of the Christian English School of Torino;

·       Maintain a list of financial supporters which includes email, mailing address and telephone numbers;

·       Send a ministry communication emails once every two months which will include one or two stories; and

·       In later November or early-mid December, send an annual paper letter with a small gift to financial supporters requesting special year-end financial gifts, and then send a similar email to people on the email list.

 

Estimated Time Required:

·       Assuming five emails are sent every year, it is estimated that each one would require about 4 hours each in September, November, February, April and June.

·       Maintaining the email list and the financial supporter list is estimated to require about 30 minutes per month;

·       Preparing the Christmas mailer and preparing the envelope for the post office, and then preparing the follow-up email is estimated to require about 8 hours in November or December; and

·       Contacting teachers and staff in Italy on a regular basis is estimated to require about 30 minutes per month.

·       Considering all of these, it is estimated that the time commitment would be about 4 hours per month from September through June (or one hour per week), with no effort required in July and August.
