The Christian English School of Torino (CES-to) is committed to modeling “koinonia” relationships within the worldwide Christian community. This Greek word (κοινωνια) uniquely communicates active Christian love and unity. Both Paul and John use this word three times in their short letters that focus on love and unity (Philippines and 1 John). The word encompasses intimate fellowship, but it goes further, communicating active participation, partnership, and contribution to what God is doing in one another’s lives.
CES-to desires to model “koinonia” in all of our relationships, certainly with students, parents and staff, and also with our partners: churches in Torino, partnering schools around the world, and all of our volunteers and contributors. God calls all of us to not just talk about love and unity, but to live love and unity. Koinonia is an investment of our time as volunteers, our lives into deep mentoring relationships, and even our resources into what God is doing in and around the world.
